Frequently Asked Questions

What is the burn time for your candles?

Small Mason Jar Candle: 15 hours

Medium Mason Jar Candle 45 hours

Large Mason Jar Candle: 90 hours

Man Candle: 60 hours

What do I do with my jar when it's done?

Pop it in the fridge for a few minutes and crack the frozen wax with a knife or sharp object. Then clean out the jar with hot soapy water. REPURPOSE YOUR JARS! or you can contact me for a candle refill. It's 1 dollar per ounce.

How much are candle refills?

1 dollar per ounce:

Medium mason jar candle: $8

Large Mason Jar Candle: $14

Man Candle: $ 9.50

Jars must be completely clean with wick removed. You are responsible for shipping jars or dropping them off at my house. I will contact you when jars are filled and you can either pick them up or pay to have them shipped back to you! Refills usually take 1 week.

Why is my candle creating soot on the side of the jar?

Trim that wick baby! Keep your wicks nice and trim (to 1/4 of an inch) for every single burn. That way your candle will burn slower and your jar will stay nice and pretty!

Why is the wax on the sides of my jar not melting down?

My candles are designed to burn the wax clean off the sides of the jar as they are lit. Make sure that for the first burn the "Memory Pool"  of melted wax touched the sides of the jar before you blow it out. This can usually be accomplished by burning the candle for at least 1 hour for the first burn.

Why is my candle yellowing or turning a neon color?

Ok this is the deal: Some of my oils, especially my vanilla oil, are very strong and thick thus can  discolor the wax to a pale yellow hue. The more you expose the candle to UV light, the more it might change color.  Wherever direct sun light hits the jar can potentially discolor it as well.  I have only seen this happen with vanilla, driftwood and mandarin citrus. This doesn't affect the smell or burn time, but is just part of having a dye free natural candle. Some candle makers use dye chips to hide the discoloration, but I like having a dye free candle!!

Do you do custom orders?

Yes! I'd love to work with you on custom orders for parties or events! Please contact me so we can discuss this further!

How do you cut your tags and man candle "topper"?

I have this great machine called a cricut that lets you design and cut anything! I spent hours designing a template so that I can print on a regular 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper and then put it in the circut to cut right where I need it!

What is a lotion bar?

A lotion bar may look like a bar of soap, but it is indeed lotion! The great thing about a lotion bar is that it stays solid at room temperature, but melts at about 98 degrees (your body temperature.) They are also preservative and dye free! Liquid lotions are 80% water and a very small amount of actual butters and oils. A lotion bar takes all of the nourishing butters and oils and condenses them into one delicious chunk of moisturizing goodness. It's basically solid body butter that melts with your body heat and doesn't feel greasy!
